Jenny Yi is the Owner of Chloe + Mint, a commercial plant design and interior decor studio. They offer real and faux plant solutions and seasonal decor and flowers. The Center by Lendistry (TCbL): What led you to start your business?
Jenny Yi (JY): Chloe+Mint began as an event planning company specializing in flower design before expanding into semi-permanent and permanent installations for retail spaces. In 2019, recognizing the potential in commercial installations, I decided to pivot away from event planning. A pivotal opportunity to collaborate with a restaurant group led to a strategic shift, and Chloe+Mint now focuses exclusively on providing innovative plant design solutions to restaurants, hotels, and retail establishments.
TCbL: What did you gain through The Center’s Digital Literacy Accelerator?
JY: Participating in The Center’s Digital Literacy Accelerator has been a transformative experience for our business. The invaluable mentorship has not only provided strategic guidance but also connected us with influential figures in our industry. The accelerator’s curated resources and specialized training have equipped us with essential skills and insights, significantly contributing to our business growth. Through these doors opened by the accelerator, we’ve gained a broader network, enhanced knowledge, and a heightened ability to navigate and thrive in the competitive landscape of our industry.
TCbL: Imagine you have a time machine that can take you back to the day you started your entrepreneurial journey. What advice would you give your younger self, knowing what you know now?
JY: If I could travel back to the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, I would advise my younger self to maintain the current path but embrace fearlessness. Reminding myself that I am a powerful manifestor, I would encourage thinking on a grand scale, emphasizing that planning for larger ambitions will unlock greater opportunities than initially imagined. Embracing boldness and expansive vision from the outset would be the key to realizing the full potential of the journey ahead.
