Born to Venezuelan immigrants whose families traced back to India, Spain, and Morocco, Carolina Caro identifies as Latina by culture and credits her family’s values with shaping how she lives and leads today. Those values guided her to found Conscious Leadership Partners, where she helps leaders and teams unlearn inherited habits and generational conditioning and lead with greater clarity. She has worked with executives in high-stakes institutions such as the FBI and NASA, as well as professionals simply trying to make it through their next Zoom call with ease.
Over the summer, Carolina joined The Center’s Digital Growth Accelerator (DGA) to strengthen her digital presence and reach more leaders. That meant learning about search engine optimization, backlinks, and other behind-the-scenes levers that make a website easier to find and more credible. DGA advisor Mike Cano helped her establish a baseline understanding of those tools and then walked her through the practical steps to build from them. Carolina recorded their sessions and rewatched them to capture the many details. “My website’s traffic started to increase because I was implementing the steps. I could see the difference almost immediately,” she said.
What stood out to her most was Mike’s approach. Rather than pushing paid ads or other costly tools, he encouraged her to focus on building a strong foundation and to experiment through free trials before investing. “He met me where I was and then went deeper when I was ready,” she explained. “He is generous with his knowledge and careful with how we invest.” After taking part in other similar programs that felt too basic, DGA really stood apart for her. “It’s the coach,” Carolina said. “The coach makes it or breaks it, and Mike brought so much value in both the classes and the one-on-one sessions.”
Looking back, Carolina says her experience with DGA can be summed up in one word: gratitude. Gratitude for the timing of the program, which came at a moment when digital marketing was shifting so quickly that she felt she could no longer keep up on her own. Gratitude for a coach who reflects the community he serves and shares knowledge in a way that feels both practical and personal. For Carolina, that sense of gratitude fuels the way she leads, the way she teaches others to unlearn, and the way she continues to shape her business for the future.
