Launch event for Resources for Entrepreneurship Advising & Coaching Hub (REACH), a new platform built to support California’s small business advisors, coaches, and mentors.
Daniel Gowman understands that responsibility well.
As a Financial Business Consultant with Asociación de Emprendedores, Daniel provides workshops and one-on-one technical assistance to Southern California’s Latino small business community. Through his work, entrepreneurs receive hands-on support to develop business plans, strengthen financial management practices, improve operations, and prepare for capital opportunities.
Before stepping into nonprofit business advising, Daniel built his career in accounting, working in accounts payable and later as a staff accountant. Over time, he realized he wanted to use those skills in a more community-centered way.
Transitioning into business advising required a new set of tools.
To strengthen his approach, Daniel participated in The Center by Lendistry’s REACH and Capital Advisor Training Series, part of the SCALE Network initiative supported by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate. Developed by The Center’s Ben Greenlea, the trainings are designed to help business advisors deepen their technical assistance and capital readiness expertise so they can more effectively support entrepreneurs.
“REACH and the Capital Advisor Training provided practical tools and strategies that immediately strengthened how we support entrepreneurs,” said Daniel. “The trainings provided actionable, entrepreneur-focused tools we could put into practice right away.”
Today, Daniel is applying those lessons directly in his work with small business owners across Southern California, helping entrepreneurs build stronger foundations for growth and long-term success.
